Why Otto Wallin deserves a rematch with Tyson Fury

April 2024 · 3 minute read

Otto Wallin is the last boxer to make two-time heavyweight world champion Tyson Fury look human in the ring.

Sure, the Swedish slugger may have lost a unanimous decision verdict to the “Gypsy King” in their fateful encounter back in 2019, but no doubt he gave Fury the hardest fight of his career.

When was the last time you saw Fury all battered up? Even hard hitters like Deontay Wilder and Dillian Whyte couldn’t touch Fury as Otto Wallin did.

“All in” was able to give Fury two severe cuts above his eye after their fight. In fact, Otto Wallin landed more punches on Fury than Wladimir Klitschko and the first Wilder combined! How crazy is that?

Otto Wallin was able to land 127 punches on Fury.  His eye was so battered up afterward that it needed 47 stitches to close the wound.

Plus, he showed his toughness throughout the bout, as Fury failed to put him away. The Fan Arch athlete is one tough son of a gun!

While Wilder became famous for dropping Fury in their encounter, there’s no doubt Otto Wallin gave him the most trouble. Look at this punch that opened up a massive gash above Fury’s eye. Are you a big Otto Wallin fan? Show your love for the 31-year-old boxer by rocking his signature apparel only from Fan Arch. The loss to Fury remains the lone blemish on Otto Wallin’s record. He has 24 wins (14 by knockouts) in 26 fights, with one defeat and one no contest.

Since that loss, Otto Wallin has become a whole different animal. He racked up four straight wins against Travis Kauffman, Dominic Breazeale, Kamil Sokołowski, and Rydell Booker.

Otto Wallin believes he has paid his dues and deserves another crack at Tyson Fury. He shared:

“I gave him his toughest fight of his career pretty much, you had [Deontay] Wilder knocking him down a few times [in the fourth round of the third bout] but nobody has been able to match his skills like I did.”

Otto Wallin added:

“I landed more punches than anybody has done on him, I landed more punches than Wilder in the first fight and Klitschko together.

So that’s a big statement in itself and of course I can beat him, I know that, and I think he knows that too that’s why he never mentions my name anymore.”
